THE CABINET chaired by means of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday authorized the second one editions of 2 flagship programmes – Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) and Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) 2.0.
The Prime Minister had inaugurated the 2 schemes starting of this month via a rite in New Delhi.
The Cabinet authorized the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) until 2025-26, with center of attention on sustainability of Open Defecation Free results, reaching clinical processing of cast waste in all towns, and managing waste water in towns with not up to 1 lakh inhabitants in Census 2011.
On Atal venture, a central authority observation stated, “The Cabinet understands that providing reliable and affordable water supply and sanitation services to urban households is a national priority. This will be achieved by providing functional tap connections to all households, undertaking water source conservation/ augmentation, rejuvenation of water bodies and wells, recycle/re-use of treated used water and rainwater harvesting.”
Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation used to be introduced in June 2015 to facilitate ease of dwelling in 500 towns by means of offering faucet connections and sewer connections, the observation stated.
